Through a grant awarded to us by The Women's Fund of Greater Birmingham and in partnership with Jefferson State Community College, we will be offering a free welding class. The class will accommodate 10 single moms that have a High School Diploma or GED. The class will start on January 16th, 2018 and end on May 8th, 2018, with classes being on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Selected students will be on the Jefferson State campus in Pell City on Tuesdays and Thursdays doing hands on lab work (steel toed boots are required) and on the Head Start campus on Wednesdays doing job preparation exercises. If you are interested in taking this class you will be notified of the daily time schedule once it is finalized and the application that you will need to fill out will be made available to you as soon as we have access to it. There will be a certification exam at the end of the class. Please remember that there will only be 10 available slots for this free class, so please contact Ms. Savage at 205-338-9694 ext. 104 with your name and contact information as soon as possible if you are interested.
