Principal's Bio

St. Clair County Head Start - Director

      Ms. Latoya Orr is a proud resident of St. Clair County and endeavors to be an advocate for exceptional education for our county’s children. She currently serves the community as the Director of St. Clair County Head Start. Her intrinsic desire to teach led her to choose a career in education upon her graduation from Pell City High School with an Advanced Diploma. Ms. Orr accepted a Presidential Scholarship to Alabama State University where she received her B.S. degree in Secondary Education and a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration. She has also obtained an Educational Specialist degree from the University of Alabama.

          Ms. Orr continued her career in education within the Pell City School System as a Social Studies teacher for three years and Assistant Principal at Pell City High School for seven years. She is currently a member of the 2011-2012 class of Leadership St. Clair County and the JCCEO Center of Excellence Alabama Early Childhood Leadership Academy. Ms. Orr is an active member of the civic community and serves on the board of directors for the Pell City School System Imagination Library and the St. Clair County Children’s Advocacy Center. She also serves on the steering committee for the YWCA of Central Alabama. Ms. Orr is a licensed missionary and active member of the Freewill Church of God in Christ. She thanks God for his favor and desires to accomplish all that He has purposed for her life.
